The Comet Tavern is a gloriously unique entity. Gritty enough to feel engaged with the bands, spacious enough to bask in the sound, venerable enough to offer greatness on any given night. We are playing at 10 or 11. Tell all your friends — this is our last show before we rebuild our sound!

Wednesday Tractor Show!
This coming Wednesday is big: It’s the last Seattle show with one of our founding members — Mr. Lincoln Ritter — and we want to make it special. The Tractor is great. Pablo Trucker and The Legendary Oaks are awesome. And we’ll be playing songs off the recent album “Aftermath” plus a few newer ones. [...]
Letter Goodbye
This paper’s too good for these words For these words are a coward’s escape From the creatures laid hollow by birds and betrayed by the fireworks down on the cape. And these words are too good for my mind For my mind is a yellowing hue I recall only times when these meaningless rhymes could [...]
Endymion

Herculaneum
Every day, the same record plays in the hollows of my bones A holy ghost, grown so desperate for a song that’s not my own Now listen fast – this ain’t gonna last – let me take you far from here I don’t want none of your alibis – just a sympathetic ear I don’t [...]
Mr. Switzerland

Elegy for Jackie

Dona Nobis
You pluck the leaves from pretty plants, then rub the dirt into your brother’s hand It’s only fair for him to take some of the blame for every rule you break For it was he, who with his birth, made mother question what your love was worth And you’ve been waiting since that day to [...]
Aftermath
The best among us. The best among us. Ready to lead us into light – He’s got the dream, boys, but none of the pride. Oh, and I wonder, when I get told I’ll know better when I grow old. I caught you smiling I caught you smiling Can’t you believe it’ll be all right? [...]
